Here I will tell you about some of the famous temples of Sikkim that have their own identity and significance. We mostly read about different dishes, dance forms, nature, agriculture, culture, and folklores of different states and different countries but we rarely read about temples of the region. But I want to tell you about an important thing that this type of information is very important for our life because it connects our life with our sacraments. So today I will tell you about some of the most famous temples of SIKKIM.



  1. Hanuman  Tok :-  It is a hindu temple complex located in the upper reaches of Gangtok. The temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, and maintained by the Indian army. according to legal legends when Hanuman was flying with Dronagiri parvat which had the life saving herb sanjeevani to save lord Rama's brother Lakshmana. He rested on the spot for some time where his temple now lies. In 1968 this entire area was handed over to Indian army.     
  2. 2.  Kirateshwar  Mahadev  Temple  Kirateshwar Mahadeva Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to lord Shiva, located at leg ship, West Sikkim, along the banks of river Rangeet. The temple is known as kirateshwar mahadev thaan by the kirati people or simply as shiv mandir. According to Hindu beliefs, pleased with Arjuna’s hard penance and devotion, lord Shiva appeared before him in the very spot where the temple lies as hunter kirateshwar or lord of the kiratas and blesses him success in the Mahabharata war. 

    3.   Shirdi sai baba mandir : - This temple is dedicated to shirdi sai baba, situated near char dham, it is considered as one of the major places of pilgrimage in namchi. It is a two storyed building with modern architecture having a statue of shirdi sai baba in 1st floor. There are 10 beautiful paintings represent the 10 different incarnations of lord Vishnu.    

    4.  shri viswa vinayaka mandir :-  This temple is also known by the name Ganesh mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Ganesh. It is located in east Sikkim. It was inaugurated by shri Dinesh Chandra, general secretary of viswa Hindu parishad accompanied by the chief ministershri pawan chamling on 3rd October 2016. This accords 51 faces of lord Ganesh. Shivalinga and a statue of hanuman is also present in this temple.

    5.   samudraspte Shiva temple :- located at 5 km from namchi, samudraspate Shiva temple is a famous Hindu temple located on the samudraspate hill which is said to be a wish fulfilling hill. The complex towers a giant statue of lord Shiva. The temple is visited by thousands of Hindu devotees every year. The area has a peaceful environment.
